Wauwatosa is Potawatomi for firefly. We took that single idea and built four complete brand worlds from it — same insect, wildly different rooms. It’s the same exercise we run before your name ever goes on a homepage.

“Cold light: all signal, no heat.”

The firefly taken to the laboratory — specimen plates, taxonomy labels, one acid color on gallery black, and a living swarm that follows your cursor. Firefly light is nearly 100% efficient; the studio holds marketing to the same standard.

“One light is enough — if it moves.”

The opposite pole: blinding white, massive ink type, and a single glowing dot that lives through the entire page — landing as the headline’s period, hopping down the manifesto, crossing a night section as the only light, and settling into the call-to-action.

“Field-tested marketing.”

The firefly as Americana — parchment, badge crests, ticket-stub pricing, an illustrated main street that lights up at dusk, and a little hand-drawn firefly that chases your cursor through the night shift. Every illustration generated in-house in one locked palette.

“Built to be seen.”

The one we ship. Dusk and luciferin, editorial grids, published pricing — deliberately balanced so a lawyer, an electrician, and a baker all see themselves in it. The other three exist to prove that this restraint is a choice, not a ceiling.
